Noel Gallagher photograph by John Wright

Noel Gallagher by John Wright

Oasis fame Noel Gallagher photographed for Q magazine in London by celebrity photographer John Wright.

John’s work bridges the gap between practical iconography and critical value. Merging the line where a working, illustrative image becomes an event in itself, a piece of art that transcends it’s pragmatic ‘raison d’etre’. Born and bred in the urban council estates of Glasgow, John’s images are reflections of the hard social vista that surrounded his formative years. His portraiture often presenting a harsh, contrast rich, landscape of the human condition. The theatrical and humorous style which encapsulates much of his work echoes the humour and escapism essential to endure working class Glasgow as a child in the 1970′s.

The colouring of John Wright’s photographs are always so interesting and having seen this in the flesh it really does look fantastic.

Available in 5 sizes these striking limited edition (out of 25) photographs start from only £1,000 upwards including vat and delivery in the United Kingdom, for shipping abroad allow an additional £50. Each photograph is personally signed by celebrity photographer John Wright and numbered.

Lady GaGa singer-songwriter photograph by John Wright March 2009

Lady GaGa by John Wright

Singer-songwriter and musician LADY GAGA latest photograph for sale by Celebrity Photographer John Wright as part of a photo shoot for Q magazine March 2009.

Born in New York in 1986 to Italian American parents Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta earned her stage name from that of Queen after the record producer Robert Fusari compared her vocal style to Freddie Mercury. Influenced by ‘glam rock’ David Bowie, Queen, and ‘1980′s Pop’ Madonna and Michael Jackson singer-songwriter Akon he signed her to a joint deal with his own label Kon Live Distribution. In 2008 GAGA released The Fame and hit singles Just Dance nominated for the best dance recording at the 51st Grammy Awards and Poker Face. When LADY GAGA was a little girl she would sing along on her mini plastic tape recorder to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper hits and get twirled in the air in Daddy’s arms to the sounds of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.

It’s really no wonder that this little girls from a good Italian New York Family turned in to the exhibitionist, multi-talented singer-songwriter with a flair for theatrics that is today LADY GAGA. “I was always an entertainer. I was a ham as a little girl and I’m a ham today” says LADY GAGA who made a name for herself on the Lower East side club scene.

The sale price is £1,775 (inc vat) for a 20 x 20 inches photograph which is framed in high quality black glossy laquered finish over solid wood signed by John Wright within a limited edition of only 25 including delivery within the United Kingdom. £1,700 (inc vat) unframed including delivery within the United Kingdom. Lily Allen singer-songwriter photographed by celebrity photographer John Wright April 2009

Lilly Allen

Having just only turned 24 years old Lily Allen is one of the most popular singer-songwriters known for her songs “Smile”, “LDN”, “Littlest Things”, “Alfie”, her cover of “Oh My God”,”The Fear” and her unique Mockney style. Her single “Smile” hit number one in the UK Singles Chart July 2006 and then in December of the same year her debut Album Alright, Still was voted the third best album of the year by MixMag and has sold over 2.6 million copies worldwide. In 2007, it was nominated for the award of Best British Album at the BRIT Awards and for Best New Artist at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Lily’s second album It’s Not Me, It’s You released February 2009 in the UK and then in the United States a day later February 2009 went to number one in the UK and Australia and the first single from the album “The Fear” was number one in the first four weeks. The album debuted at number 5 position.

As well as a singer-songwriter and daughter of famous actor Keith Allen, Lily has been talk show host on her own BBC3 show Lily Allen and Friends produced by Tim Withers the front man of Brambleberry Appletons and also has her own fashion line of dresses, shoes and accessories entitled Lily Loves. In 2005 Lily Allen was virtually unknown posting demos on MySpace attracting thousands of listeners/MySpace friends. The Observer Music Monthly took serious interest and included an article about her success through MySpace appearing again on the front cover of the magazine just 2 months later. She is the fifth most popular musical actor of the 2008 according to the social networking site.  Allen has had  many collaborations including Robbie Williams, Basement Jaxx, and rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Celebrity photographer John Wright took this absolutely stunning photograph amongst a cover shot for Q Magazine April 2009 alongside ‘digitally enhanced’ black panthers  just hours after jetting in from the Caribbean.

The truth is that there was just one black panther and it was kept in a cage which didn’t reach all the way to the studio which meant it could have climbed over potentially.

The Buckinghamshire based private zoo, Amazing Animals supplied a second panther in a cage just which was not used. The shoot took all day back in January but the real work came afterwards with 100 hours of post production says Wright. The cover image is a digital composite of 3 images – a picture of Allen and two separate pictures of the same panther. There are about 20 variations of the cover and in other shots the panther is replicated so it appears there are three of them, cleverly making it look as though Allen is dancing with the big cats. Preparation of the shoot from 7.30am where by Allen had only just landed that morning to Heathrow at 9am.

“I think she thought it was jolly good fun” Wright said. “She went from lying on the beach to being in a room with angry panthers but she was great and completely got the concept and did everything I asked of her. She wasn’t sure about taking her top off but we got there in the end.”

Allen’s team liked the panther concept apparently to fit with her “more wild” image to go with her new Album, It’s not Me, It’s You, with a tag line on the Q magazine cover is “Sexy Beast Lily Allen and her wicked, wicked ways”

Naturally the handlers were only allowed to go inside the cage with the cats and Allen posed for several shots separately and the images were digitally merged in post-production. There were an elaborate system of signals in place just in case the panthers got loose and the room had to be evacuated. Working with such dangerous animals was challenging to work out what movements they would have and communicating Wright’s aims with the handlers.
